Personal Work | Turks and Caicos

I can’t say enough how much I fell in love with this trip. After our road trip in Ireland, which was AMAZING, all we wanted to do was take a vacation where we could relax.  I have also been wanting to travel for my birthday for the last couple years because when your birthday is smack dab in the middle of the endless Midwestern winter, you want nothing more than to get out of town.

So with one standing reservation and two airplane tickets we booked a little villa in Turks and Caicos and jetted-off to sunshine and sand!

The main thing about this trip versus every other trip we have been on is the lack of planning. We wanted to allow ourselves to completely let go of all the hecticness we feel 24/7. You know the “I have to do this, and this, and answer this email.” We came in with zero plans and we kind-of loved it. Our mornings were spent plopping down in the sand and watching the sunrise. We’d drive into town grab a coffee, a beignet (from the sweetest french lady, ever), and walk along the beach. Afterwards, the day was ours for the taking. Inevitably we always ended up sprawled out under some umbrella soaking up every ounce of fresh air we possibly could and happily wiggling our toes in the sand. One day, we even rented a puppy to come join us…seriously, we did. 🙂 (and we went back an embarrassingly amount of times to visit them).

Now that we’re back, I am counting down the days until wedding season starts. I can’t believe how amazing these couples are and how much I already love each and every single one of them. 2014 will definitely be one for the books!! 🙂
