Emily & Nolan | Intimate Washington DC Wedding in Capitol Hill

Emily and Nolan chose a beautiful weekday for their intimate Washington DC wedding, beginning their day at golden hour at the Jefferson Memorial. The soft morning light cast a warm glow on their faces, setting the tone for a day that was equal parts joyful and unhurried.

After capturing timeless portraits on the Memorial steps, we made our way to Georgetown — one of DC’s most photogenic neighborhoods. We stopped for coffee along the cobblestone streets, letting the color and character of the area unfold naturally behind them. It’s the kind of backdrop that makes Washington DC wedding photography feel effortless.

From there, we hopped on the DC Metro to the National Gallery of Art, where the stunning Beaux-Arts architecture and world-class galleries gave us some of the most emotional and artistic frames of the day. Emily and Nolan’s love of art and culture made this stop feel deeply personal.

The afternoon slowed down beautifully with a private ceremony at a historic Capitol Hill church, surrounded by just their closest family and friends. The vows were heartfelt, the atmosphere intimate — exactly what a Capitol Hill elopement should feel like.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the Supreme Court, where the grand neoclassical steps provided a striking and elegant backdrop — a perfect reflection of their love story.

The evening ended at their Capitol Hill brownstone, where eleven family members gathered for a multi-course dinner filled with laughter, exquisite food, and the kind of rich conversation that only happens when the guest list is intentionally small. Emily and Nolan’s DC wedding was a masterclass in classic elegance — timeless, intimate, and completely unforgettable.
